Volunteering
If you have some spare time and wish to help out, please don’t hesitate to get in touch - call us at 604-926-0856 or send us an email. The North Shore Schizophrenia Society and its Family Support Centre depend on volunteers to sustain their full range of activities.
Young people interested in doing some volunteer work are most welcome. Your help will not only be much appreciated, it will also give you a chance to learn about an illness which usually strikes people when they are young like yourself. You will, indirectly, be helping others in your own generation.
Here are some of the general volunteer opportunities:
Catering
Events help and participation
Events team
Exhibit staffing
Fundraising
Graphic design and photo editing
Hosting meetings or events
Office assistance
Photography
Poster and brochure distribution
Repairs and painting
Website maintenance
Writing and editing

There are also special volunteer possibilities for NSSS members:
Partnership Education presentations
Family to Family teachers
Family Support Group facilitating
Database work and membership processing
Telephone tree

And special volunteer possibilities for those with the illness:
Partnership Education presentations
